We\u2019ve always had a love for Seniors. We were orphaned when I was 3, and my older sister, brother and I moved to our maternal grandparents\u2019 farm in Illinois. Growing up in a close-knit farming community, our Grandparents acted as our parents, and our \u201cAunts and Uncles\u201d were actually great Aunts and Uncles.<\/p>\n

Many years later, when my wife Martha and I started looking for an Assisted Living community for her Mom, I realized how important these communities are, both for Seniors and for their families. Ultimately, I quit my job in Telecommunications and became the Community Relations Director for an Independent Living\/Assisted Living\/Memory Care community.<\/p>\n

Over time, my employers provided on-going classroom training in all aspects of Senior Living, amounting to hundreds of classroom hours. Eventually, I took more classes, tested and received my Long-Term Care Administrator\u2019s license \u2013 and I take more classes every year to maintain it.<\/p>\n

While I loved the Administrator\u2019s role, my focus was shifted from residents and families to operations (i.e. paperwork and reports). When my friend Shelley McKain (previous owner of Choice Connections of Tulsa) made a career shift, Martha and I purchased Choice Connections of Tulsa.<\/p>\n

      I am fully independent, compensated by the communities. There is no charge to Seniors or their families. I find the right place for each person, based upon their specific needs (safety, medical assistance, location, preferences, budget, etc.). I help families cut through the confusion, so they can relax, knowing that their loved ones are in the right place.<\/p>\n
